Before you upgrade, make sure your data is duly backed up. Whatever process you use, you want to make sure that all your lines, documents, operations, and settings are saved. Most importantly, be sure to manually back up any particular lines that can’t be replaced in case commodity goes crazy.
Before pacing with the upgrade, it's essential to ensure that your computer meets the minimal system conditions for Windows 10. Your device should have at least a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM for 32- bit or 2 GB for 64- bit, 16 GB of free fragment space for 32- bit or 20 GB for 64- bit, and a DirectX 9-compatible plates card.
As one option, you can enable file History in Windows8.1 to back up crucial flyers and lines to external media. Alternately, you can turn to a third- party backup software or a pall storehouse service. Microsoft's own OneDrive is no longer supported in Windows8.1, so that’s not a feasible option. A different pall storehouse and syncing service, similar as Dropbox or Box, is worth considering.
Microsoft originally let you upgrade from Windows8.1 to Windows 10 for free. Technically, that offer has since expired, but if you subscribe into Windows with a Microsoft account, a license should be linked to your account. This will remain in effect after you move from Windows8.1 to 10.
Tool Log into your Windows8.1 PC and head to Microsoft’s Download Windows 10 website. Click the Download Now button to download the Windows 10 installation media. Double- click the downloadedMediaCreationTool22H2.exe file to install the program.
At the screen that asks what you want to do, elect Upgrade this PC now and click Next. The Windows 10 download also kicks off. Make sure the edition of Windows 10 that you want to install matches the one for Windows8.1. For case, if you have Windows8.1 Pro, you want Windows 10 Pro. Accept the license terms.
Click the Change what to keep link to confirm the particular lines and apps you want to keep. Next, click the Install button and allow the upgrade to do. When finished, your PC will reboot and allow you to log into Windows 10. Let the new operating system configure and update.
Depending on your PC, tackle, motorists, and other factors, the upgrade may not go according to plan. In that case, you may admit an error telling you that the Windows 10 installation has failed. This can be with some PC configurations.
In the event of a problem, your stylish bet is to upgrade to Windows 10 from Microsoft’s ISO file. Run the Media Creation Tool again. At the screen asking what you want to do, elect produce Installation Media and click Next.
Now, open file Explorer and navigate to where the ISO file has been downloaded. Right- click on it and select Mount from the pop- up menu. This will produce a bootable drive on your computer and open a collection of lines and flyers from the ISO file.

At the Ready to install screen, confirm that the upgrade will install Windows 10 and keep your particular lines and apps. Click Install and allow the upgrade to do. Your PC will also need to reboot before you can subscribe into Windows 10.
